In the first picture, I can see a smartly-dressed man who is pointing his finger at me momentarily. He must be telling something novel, innovative and great as all of his mimics and gestures are whispering it. As for his facial expressions, he is winking his eyes now, he is twinkling, and it seems as he is articulating a bit, which may mean that his news is brilliant. He seems to be quite jubilant at something. In my humble opinion, he must be working in the business field as he is wearing an elegant suit with a reddish tie and a snow white shirt. Maybe, he would like to convince me of investing larger sums in a specific share in the stock market. He is definetly really persuasive as he is turning to me and his body language is also very convincing. I would say to him that this issue seems to be pretty serious, and I would need some time to think it over thourougfully. (Other suggested expressions by the answer key: intimidating, threatening. It seems that the author of the book thinks that the man is threatening the other side at the moment, however, for me he doesn't seem to be so scary as I can see a slight smile on his face.)
The middle picture depicts a relatively young girl holding both of her arms up in the air. She seems to be over the moon, so something great must have happened to her. She might have won a contest or something and is saying "yee, that's it!" I would say to her that congratulations on your achievement, it must have required a lot of effort. She is having a wide smile on her face, she is opening her mouth at the moment, which expresses that something important must have happened to her. She seems to be pretty encouraging, with all of her body language, she is also heartening me to achieve what I want. (Other suggested expressions by the answer key: triumphant)
In the last picture, a man is shown with a totally bored face in utter disillusionment. He seems to be pessimistic, depressive and melancholic. He might have just cried his eyes out as his eyes are red. He may have got some bad, heartbreaking news with which it is hard to cope. For instance, he may have lost a nuclear family member who was close to his heart. I don't think that he would like to tell anything. He seems to be extrovert, his mouth is closed. The only thing he would like to have is empathy and understanding, I guess. (Other suggested expressions by the answer key: downhearted, be down in the dumps)
