Fashion
Undoubtedly, in our materialistic 21st century, fashion is hailed as one of the most important things for many generations. It would come as no surprise that fashion is renowed for its circular change, so according to numerous people, it does not change but it only rapidly transforms.
On one hand, it can be stated that people’s outfit can speak volumes about their owners. It is also true that 1st impressions may matter a lot and many people tend to make snap judgements about others’ look simply by their appearance. They think that they can tell everything at a glance. On the other hand, as the idiom says: “handsome is as handsome does.”
As for me, I have always admired those who are devoted to their appearance, wear glitzy, immaculate attire, have well-manicured hands and neat, well-combed hairdo instead of windswept hair. However, I have to admit that I have never belonged to the group of these people. In my opinion, fashion is not only time and money-consuming but it also a superficial thing which attempts to persuade people to wear the latest brand-new items and styles and to consume more and more. You may say that my attitude is irksome and I am too bone-idle to deal with my appearance more, but I consider other values like inner qualities are of paramount importance.
All in all, fashionable and trendy clothes may attract people’s eyes, but they also have to be aware of the fact that “they should not judge the book by its cover.” Appearance plays an crucial part in life; however, it should not be of primary importance. (270 words)
